Mapping Sensual Ecologies
During Mapping Sensual Ecologies, we will practice writing our bodies into the landscapes that have surrounded and shaped us. We will engage with text, symbol, and memory to map our environments through the sensed: the corner where you had your first kiss. The neighborhood store that no longer exists. The fish markets, prickly weeds, rivers, stones, and parking lots that have touched your sweaty skin, your beating heart.
We will explore how questions such as:
How does our embodiment in the landscape connect to processes of displacement, gentrification, and naming/making home?
What can our surrounding landscapes teach us about an erotics of joy and mourning?
Where do we locate the ghosts?
This event will take place over Zoom. A link will be sent to all registered participants in the days leading up to the event.
